Adrienne Morgan Hammond

Adrienne Morgan Hammond was born in California in 1960. She studied acting and dance at the "American Academy of Dramatic Arts" (Pasadena, California). Her parents come from New Orleans (Louisiana), where she grew up with the sound of soul, gospel and jazz.

Her singing talent was discovered by her teachers as early as age 5. Between the ages of 12 and 17, she won various prizes at high school and church competitions.

Since the age of 9, she has been arranging multi-part choral pieces purely by ear.

Adrienne came to Cologne in 1992 through the musical "Elvis". As it had always been her dream to get to know Europe better, she stayed in Cologne beyond the engagement and led the ensemble "the Accapellas". She toured Germany and France and released her jazz debut CD "It's me" in 1996.

2000-2002: Leader of the well-known gospel group "Jambalaya", participation in the German national final of the Eurovision Song Contest with Joy Fleming. Concerts throughout Germany.

Married since 2002 to "kölsche Jung" (Cologne local) Marco Diefenbach, a musician and psychologist who accompanies her at workshops and concerts.

Today, Adrienne holds choir and corporate workshops across Europe and gives concerts as a duo with Marco and with the group "amHammond Gospel Club".

With her company "A Morgan Hammond Thing", she offers unforgettable musical experiences to companies and organisations as well as private clients.

As a devout Christian, Adrienne Morgan Hammond is involved in various social projects. She works with children and young people in socially disadvantaged areas (e.g. St. Christophorus, Berlin-Neukölln) and foundations (Dekeyser & Friends Foundation, now "The Do School"), using music to create a connecting element and a chance for people to rediscover themselves. She has composed and performed benefit songs for several charitable projects - for example for OIKOCREDIT and CHARITY Kinderhilfswerk e.V. - or holds benefit concerts, currently for several inclusive education and support institutions (e.g. Rurtalschule Heinsberg, Berufsbildungswerk Greifswald) or as part of the Cologne AIDS Gala, as well as CSD events throughout Germany. Adrienne's song 'Don't You Agree' was voted the anthem of Europride 2002.
